What's the difference between a Pagan and a Wiccan?
This is a question that we frequently get for those who are just starting out. Paganism is a classification or group of religions that have many elements in common. Generally speaking, pagan religions are earth-based and polytheistic. Wicca is one of many specific religions within that group, which has its own specific beliefs and rules. Also, within Wicca (and many of the other pagan religions) there are different specialized versions of the religion called traditions. This structure of religions is very common elsewhere in theology. Christianity, for example, has multiple branches (Catholic, Protestant, etc.), some of which have sub-branches.
