I need to write a spell,
Oh my! What do I do?
Tarot first to let me know
if my intent is true.

Which color is appropriate?
What candle do I use?
And stones, there are so many
How ever will I choose?

Incense; stick or herb?
Which is right?
What time of day?
Do I wait for night?

I've done my research,
My circle is cast.
I'm ready now,
finally, at last.

I call the elements
I invoke the Divine.
I chant my spell,
three times in rhyme.

Visualize the outcome,
focus my intent.
Now I'm done,
The energy is sent.

Q. Where do I start?
A. The best place to start is by using divination to see if a spell is the right way to go. This can be done by what ever form of divination that you use.

Q. What is a candle used for?
A. The candle is used to release energy. As it burns the energy is released into the universe to manifest your spell.

Q. Does the color of the candle matter?
A. Colors resonate energies and feelings. Choose a color that vibrates the same type of energy that your spell uses. If in doubt, use white.

Q. Why are stones and crystals used when casting a spell?
A. Like colors, stones and crystals vibrate energies. By choosing a stone that is known to vibrate the same type of energy that your spell uses it enhances the spell and adds to the energy that you put into it.

Q. Why do I need incense or herbs and which should I use?
A. Scent is a trigger to set you in the proper frame of mind. Herbs have magickal properties. Which one you choose is up to you. The incense smells better than most of the herbs. Spells can also use a combination of the two.

Q. What is the right time to cast my spell?
A. There are many different answers to this question. Some people say that different days should be used for casting different types spells. Some people say that different times of the day should be used for different types of spells. The best general rule to go by is waxing moon, new to full, for positive spells and waning moon, full to new, for negative spells.

Q. I'm Wiccan, and follow the Rede. Why would I want to cast a negative spell, doesn't that go against the Wiccan Rede?
A. It doesn't always go against the Rede. Negative spells can be used for positive outcomes. You would use a negative spell to banish something, like an illness.

Q. Do spells have to rhyme or have a rhythm?
A. No. Nothing is set in stone, do what you are most comfortable with.

Q. Why do most spells rhyme?
A. Rhymes are usually easier to get a rhythm going and easier to chant. Chanting builds energy.

Q. What if I can't get my spell to rhyme?
A. At least try to give it rhythm.

Q. Do I have to cast a circle?
A. A circle protects you from outside influences and contains the energy that you have raised until you are ready to release it to manifest your will. You do not have to cast one, it is a matter of personal preference.

Q. Do I have to invoke the elements?
A. No. The elements protect your circle and can lend extra energy to your spell.

Q. Do I have to invoke the God & Goddess?
A. Again, no. The God & Goddess can lend extra energy and help with manifesting your spell through Divine power.

Q. What if I can not visualize?
A. You can put a picture or some other representation of the outcome on your altar. And most of all know that it is done and will manifest. Believe this with all of your heart.
