Is there a reliable method for astral projection?

Astral projection is as different for each person as our own dreams. Some do it on command, some can’t seem to get off the ground. In my opinion, there are no prerequisites and the only hard part is learning how to be conscious of your projection while staying in the astral. Most people will snap right out of it as soon as they realize what is happening. It’s kind of like "falling up" the first few times.

I have a method that works well for me to catalyze the process:

Find a quiet place to meditate and light a very neutral colored candle or play some music but nothing that will interfere with your concentration. I have a very short chant I use to keep things on my side but feel free to use your own:

"Goddess and God, be my guide, take my hand, walk by my side, to lead or follow, to push or protect."

I am basically asking the Gods to watch over me while I’m there. Focus on the candle, your mind is still, then focus on your breathing. Develop a slow, steady rhythm and feel your heart slow down. Then go deeper and concentrate on your heartbeat. Start to feel every beat l each is it’s own event, you anticipate the next beat, almost waiting for it. You may start to feel woozy at this point so don’t be frustrated if you lose focus. What you are feeling is your mind and soul stepping out of your body and it’s a bit disorienting. Just stay relaxed and continue to breathe.

You will start to see things develop around you as scenery. Let the landscape come to you and start to see the details. If you look too hard you will snap back to your body, so stay relaxed. Once your mind has accepted what is happening you will be able to wander about and investigate your surroundings. Some things will come to you, others will wait to show themselves to you l they have seen you a few times.

That is the gist of how it goes. The specifics are different for everyone, so just see what it does for you. I strongly suggest using a timer the first several outings that will ring after a few minutes, just in case you get scared and cannot get home. You will see things that are too beautiful to describe but there is the possibility to face your most frightening of fears, also. The astral is NOT predictable, and knowing that will carry you far. If you feel you are not ready, then don’t do it. If you do be safe, and have fun!
